Mirror mirror

Whether it’s the mirror sitting pretty in your room or the camera on your phone or the glance you give to a car to take a peep at your reflection or the metal/glassware you use in place of a mirror, one thing is common in all these; you can see your reflection.

You can see YOU. You can appreciate how amazing you look, and you can also see your flaws.

Merriam-webster dictionary defines a mirror as
: a polished or smooth surface that forms images by reflection.
: something that gives a true reflection.

Your blue jean doesn’t turn green when you look at the mirror. It shows you how you look precisely, no filter.
The more you look at the mirror bare-faced, the more you notice a pimple you probably didn’t see a week ago or the fact that your skin is glowing better.

The bible as a mirror.

The more you go to the Word of God, the more God reveals who you are(God’s view) to you.

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

2 corinthians 3:18
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Romans 12:2 KJV

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

You can better know who you are by approaching (reading) the word continuously (renew-ING).

It reveals God’s promises to you.

God has so many promises for you in the bible. You can’t know them if you don’t read them. If you are worried about what the future holds for you, read the word of God, and you will be assured, no confusion, no what-ifs.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

It corrects

The word of God shows you things you need to work on, and it is done in love.
If you were to dust or clean your room with a phone light or a dim light, that room would seem clean to you. However, when you have a fully lighted room, you can see more crannies and places you probably thought you cleaned but is still dusty. Hope you get the gist😏

It guides you

I’m sure we know the importance of side and rare-view mirrors in a car. It helps you navigate the road safely.
We all need God’s guidance in our lives, the word of God is full of wisdom.

Isaiah 58:11

“And the Lord will continually guide you,
And satisfy your desire in scorched places,
And give strength to your bones;
And you will be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

It shows you how loved you are.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
