Forgiving and letting go.

This particular article is brief and targeted for a specific audience. This is for you if you’ve been hurt by someone and found it tough to forgive them or move on.

Being wronged by someone, particularly if they are close to you, may be quite upsetting. You know, you wouldn’t be as hurt if someone else, who isn’t so close to you, had done the same thing.

I’m unable to know the circumstances in which you found yourself, but God does. What I do know is that forgiving others is incredibly liberating, especially for you. It is best to forgive them despite the discomfort and move on.

Think about a wrong thing that you might have done before knowingly or unknowingly, when you asked God for forgiveness, did He forgive you? SURELY HE DID.

Things you need to do

  • Try not to dwell on the things that the person has done, the thoughts will certainly come and the scars might reopen again, however don’t dwell on the thoughts.
  • Exchange those thoughts with what the Bible says. Say to yourself, I have forgiven this person. And if the thoughts reoccurs, repeat the words again.
  • Let go and Let God.

What does the bible say about forgiveness.

Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Psalm 86:5
“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Mark 11:25
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

My simple and short charge to you is to forgive and let go, God knows the end even from the beginning.

With forgiveness comes peace
With forgiveness comes rest
With forgiveness comes healing
With forgiveness comes breakthrough

Forgive that person today, forgive yourself and let God have His way.
