I surrender (letting go of the burden)

I want you to think of the heaviest object you’ve ever carried…..

Now imagine carrying that heavy object throughout the whole day, while doing your daily activities; going to work, doing chores, even while you are taking a rest. The more you carry that weight physically the more tired you get with time. No matter how strong you are physically, the longer you carry something, the more tired you get.

Now that I have established that, this same scenario plays out in our minds and hearts. Some of us are carrying burdens/weights in our hearts and minds daily, we go to work with it, we come back home with it, we go out with it, the burden is just there, and it can be draining and disallows you to carry out your daily activities appropriately. It robs you from actually living a joyful and peaceful life.

Burdens can evolve from anything, it could be someone who hurt you, and you are yet to forgive, it could be a situation you are waiting on God for, and it’s beginning to feel like a burden; It could be the fact that you are yet to achieve a particular thing or goal, it could be something not going according to plan, or been disappointed about something, and you don’t know what to do.

Whatever the situation, burdens are HEAVY, and they stall you from actually doing anything productive.

I wouldn’t say it’s easy to let go, but it’s best to let go.

The question is how and to whom?

Lay down your burdens and weight, lay them down at the feet of Jesus.

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 MSGhttps://bible.com/bible/97/mat.11.28-30.MSG

Surrender all to Him and this should be done every single time. I always like to be practical; when you pray, simply tell God how you REALLY FEEL, have a conversation with Him (listen to what God has to say too). Read what He has to say in the bible as well concerning that situation. Replace that burden with God’s word. Call upon Him and He’d answer.

Continuously give all that weight to Him, and be light. God wants to help you. Stop carrying that weight. Drop it!

Let’s pray, please listen to the audio.
